What to expect on your courses.
The Sun Power Yoga Centre UK are committed to working for and with our teachers , through their teacher training and after. We have worked very hard to prove our standards are high. Our school is here to support all our teachers and to maintain a professional level of teaching.
You will cover over level 1 and 2
- Teaching as a vocation.
- An introduction to Patanjalis Yoga Sutras, The Hatha Yoga Pradipika and The Baghavad Gita.
- The Theory of Hatha Yoga.
- The Chakras and Yoga.
- The practice of Pranayama, use of Mudras and Bandhas.
- The introduction of meditation and prayer time for personal practice.
- Asana and use of Sanskrit and English names of the postures.
- Asana alignment, adaptation, modification and practice.
- How to sequence poses using Vinyasa Krama, Sivananda, Astanga and Hatha yoga principles.
- Appropriate Hands on Adjustment.
- Health and Safety issues with students in class and class environment.
- Anatomy and Physiology through the use of The Principles of the Alexander Technique and the understanding of posture and their relationship to Asana.
- Circuits of the brain and changing habits.
- Yoga for Emotional Students.
- Class planning with aims and goals and how to create fluid classes.
- How to structure a class for a beginners course.
- Spiritual reading and personal practice.
- The Yoga Diet and the Three Gunas.
- How to include Special Needs in a regular class, such as pregnancy, arthritis, amputees, mental stress and the use of a wheel chair.
- How to be aware of the needs of your students.
- Reading matter and the need for constant self-education.
- How to keep a diary of self progress.
- This course is endorsed by 3 of the worlds biggest yoga bodies and you will be insured at the start of your course, therefore you will be able to teach immediately with all health and safety measures in place.

Yoga Teacher Training Course Entry Requirements
LEVEL ONE 180 CONTACT HOURS.
- This is a certified and insured qualification which is recognised internationally.
- The course is held in Leicester and London, UK and its duration is 3 months with 12-18 Months extra study, workshops, completion of written work where appropriate and mentoring.
- Each week you will participate in a complete days workshop, this will be a hard days work!
- Each week you will cover a different aspect of your course. You will be required to complete tasks set for you in between our meetings if you live away.
- You will be required to write an essay on the particular module we will be working on and to read the appropriate books on your given reading list.
- I will expect you do 3 classes a week with a qualified yoga teacher whenever possible.
- Over the 3 months we will build up a close relationship and I will remain your mentor for the next year.
- Syllabus Level 1
LEVEL TWO TO COMPLETE 240 CONTACT HOURS.
- A further 10 weeks training, one day a week 9-30am -6pm.
- Exploring more deeply pranayama, the bandhas, mantra and mudra.
- Use of a wheel chair in a class.
- The chakras and their realationship to the postures and organs of the body.
- The Theory of Hatha Yoga lectures.
- The Warrior poses and mens health issues.
- Exploring the Endocrine System.
- Body and Mind Centering and The Circuits of the Brain.
- Technique classes and assessments will be on going.

We run an interest free 3 month to 12 month installment plan; please ask for details.
A non-returnable deposit is required to secure each place, the remainder to be paid by start of course. Arrangements can be made by contract to pay in 3 installments.
