It is a flourishing and innovative style, perfect for our modern times yet still laced with traditional yoga principles. Anne-Marie Newland is a teacher of dance as well as yoga; she specialises in sport and athletes. She has over 30 years of bodywork experience as a teacher and yoga teacher trainer. Anne-Marie is the UK Representative of the European Yoga Alliance and is always willing to give help and advice with any questions arising about Governing Bodies in Europe and beyond.

The Sun Power Yoga Centre has now been accepted into accreditation with the Governing body of Yoga in Great Britain, The British Wheel of Yoga. This means we meet the standards set for the National Occupational Standards of Great Britain. We are also a Yoga Alliance USA registered school.

Her work is growing internationally. As well as holding Yoga Teacher Training Courses and intensives in the Midlands and London, Anne-Marie has now opened a retreat in the Canadian Rockies and Greek Island of Lesvos for 2007 and is available for bookings now for the summer. You will be able to complete a 172 contact hour Yoga Teacher Training course too.

Sun Power Yoga uses the image of the sun as a symbol of empowerment, hope, determination, letting go, warmth and light. A sun inside that allows us to shine from within even on a dark winter's day. The sun is a symbol of regeneration and healing. These concepts are taught to our teachers on our courses and embody all that we wish to work for; a deep sense of achievement and the profound aspects of giving yoga to all the students we meet in class and out.

Sun Power Yoga Courses run three times a year and we hold workshops with guest teachers and The Sun Power Yoga Team throughout the year. Our workshops constitute more contact hours for our teacher training students.
